“Mindfulness is a form of meditation that cultivates moment to moment awareness and is based on ancient contemplative traditions. In mindfulness, awareness means paying attention without judging the present moment. Mindfulness is the ability to accept present reality. It promotes clarity, patience and insight. Through practising mindfulness we notice that our lives are made up of a sequence of moments, each offering a wealth and depth of possibilities to grow and change. We learn to trust ourselves and to discover our resourcefulness. We learn to recognise our own patterns of behaviour and change unhealthy and stressful habits by choosing to respond to situations rather than reacting to them.”   Cathy-Mae Karelse.
